The Plan

Very much a work-in-progress, here is our training plan leading up to the Ride London on 10th August. We’ll be aiming to do a minimum of three rides a week:

  • One speed session of some sort (tempo, intervals, that sort of thing), nominally on a Tuesday
  • One medium length, decent paced ride, nominally on a Thursday.
  • One long easy-paced ride each weekend, peaking at around 80 miles in the third week of July before tapering down for the big day.

The two mid-week rides are likely to get combined with commuting trips, so will actually be a 45 minute ride in the morning at normal “we’re running late” pace, and then in the evenings a warm-up/commute with sections of faster pace and/or extra distance added in as needed.

The details of the shorter rides are still to be decided and will probably change constantly as we progress through it, but it’s a start!

All distances are in miles, with apologies to the rules (hey, if the Ride London is in miles, we can be too!).

Where only one of us has done an activity, it is followed by (M) for Mark or (A) for Audrey.
